Medico Legal
This page informs you about the process related to preparing for your medico-legal examination. Please bring a completed questionnaire to the appointment. You will have received the questionnaire with the appointment letter.
What you need to know:
Examination
You will be examined by Mr. A Pillai. Please see your specific clinic location in your appointment letter.
Your solicitors will send an instruction letter to Mr Pillai requesting a report along with your medical records. Mr Pillai will cover the following areas in his report: details of the accident, injuries immediately sustained, progression of the injury, the treatment you received, your current medical condition, and the effects of the injuries on your social, domestic, and personal life.
What will the examination consist of?
Mr Pillai will go through the questionnaire which you will have completed and brought with you. He will then perform a physical examination. In the case of female clients, the examination will be carried out in the presence of a chaperone.
How long will it take?
Depending on the extent of your injuries, the interview and examination will take between 30 to 45 minutes.
What should I bring to my examination?
Along with your completed questionnaire, also bring proof of your identification. This can be in the form of passport, driving license etc. It is recommended that you bring any other hospital records that you have not been able to provide to your solicitors.
Can I take someone with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend or a relative with you to your appointment.
What if I can’t come to the appointment or if I need further information?
For any further information, please contact the practice. Please be advised that failure to show up for the appointment without a prior cancellation could amount to a penalty charge which some solicitors may deduct from your final settlement.
